Odesa (Odessa) Oblast
The Odessa oblast is situated on the Black Sea in the southwest of Ukraine. The regional center is the city of Odessa, which is Ukraine’s most uniquely diverse cultural and business center. One of the most economically developed and highly populated centers of Ukraine, Odessa borders on Vinnitsa, Kirovograd, Mykolaiv oblasts. As the biggest port anywhere on the Black Sea, Odessa is a major center of Ukrainian home trade, education, science, foreign commerce, and business communication. Also Odessa is a popular resort area and has a fast developing tourist industry.
